Introduction

Superstar Jelly Roll delivered not one but two unforgettable, faith-filled performances at CMA Fest on Friday, June 6. He first appeared alongside rising star Shaboozey for their catchy collaboration “Amen,” igniting the energy of a 70,000-strong crowd as they belted out the chorus together.

The song poignantly captures a plea for guidance and relief: “Somebody say a prayer for me / ’Cause the pills ran out and I still can’t sleep,” they sing, laying bare a moment of vulnerability and hope.

Shaboozey recently issued an expanded edition of his acclaimed album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which originally dropped on May 31, 2024. This dynamic pair has also graced major stages like Stagecoach and the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Jelly Puts God Center Stage with Brandon Lake

Moments later, Jelly Roll surprised fans yet again by joining contemporary Christian artist Brandon Lake to perform their stirring duet “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” The performance was marked by an atmosphere of worship, complete with a glowing cross above the stage and hands raised in unity.

“We love you, Lord—thank you for letting us testify tonight at CMA Fest, Father God,” Jelly exclaimed, his gratitude echoing through the audience.

Brandon Lake shared in a recent K-LOVE interview that he was drawn to collaborate with Jelly because of the power of his personal testimony. “I wanted to share this song with someone who has a truly hard-fought story, and Jelly was the first person who came to mind,” Lake explained.

Jelly Roll’s journey of redemption is nothing short of remarkable: once incarcerated as a teenager for selling drugs and facing armed robbery charges, he now uses his platform to inspire others through his faith.
